Am I the only one who has a tendency to dislike girly female characters? Or "female" attributes in characters?

I honestly think it depends on how the female character with the "female" attributes are portrayed, either in canon or fandom, to determine if I still like them or not. Some of the girls on your list I don't mind and some I even really like.

But I dislike the prevalence of "females have XYZ" attributes; it is hugely common to see that. What is says about culture's ideas of women and the writer's ideas about women are not usually very flattering. At worst, it comes across as woman-hating (the TV show Glee, where every girl manages to come across a crazy, manipulative bitch) or, at best, as writers who didn't want to have to think very hard when creating a female character. Then, when I do find a character with those attributes that I do like, it makes me feel almost bad for liking them. Which is silly both because it is totally possible to have good, well-developed characters with these traits, and because there are women in real life who do have these traits. I think I'd just be happier if I saw the same thought and development go into female characters that seem to go into male.

Are there some "girly/female traits" you feel are placated often on female characters in series? Does it bother you at all?

"Cry-baby," girls who aren't smart but are "moe" or "cute," women who only care about "getting" their crush/getting their man. Girls who sit at home. Healer girls are starting to bug me, but only because its becoming such a cliche/crutch to some writers.

I dislike girls who are awful to other girls too, mostly because it seems to perpetuate a message that women can't be friends with each other or something, but I'll concede that you need people who aren't nice, in stories anyway, otherwise there isn't as much conflict.

Do you have some "types" of female character you can relate to? Some types you cannot relate to? Some you just can't stand whatsoever? Which ones are the more common? Does it depend on the type of series (manga VS western stuff, shounen VS shoujo, etc)?

I really have a hard time relating to women (well, to PEOPLE) who are awful to other people, especially women being awful to other women. Especially because of a guy. Like Sakura and Ino.

I dislike a lot of the female attributes you mention when they are done badly, in a stereotypical way.

Idk, if it matters what media. Western Media and Japanese media both have these issues though they manifest in different ways I think.
