Meme-time

Yes, again. I'm rather bored and haven't written much these days anyway. So.

Taken from [livejournal.com profile] hungrytiger11 :
Comment on this, and I'll ask you five questions of varying subjects and serious-ness :)

She asked me:
1) What job do you have (or want to have)?
I don't have a job yet. I'm not sure what I would be suited to do - right now I'm trying for teaching French to foreigners, because I'm rather good at my own language and have a pathological instinct of correcting everyone around me that doesn't use proper grammar. That, and I thought that being able to answer "YES I'M A FUCKING FRENCH TEACHER" to all the retards who snap a "WHUT R U a French Teacha or sumthin?" at those who criticize their masterpieces would be SO FUCKING WORTH THE TROUBLE. Yes, I'm a brat and a mean person, and I despise people who don't even try to write properly. I'm not feeling very confident, though, 'cause I have no patience whatsoever for all the pedagogic crap I'm being fed at university.

2 )What is your Favorite manga?
Wow, now that's a tough one. There are many series I like, so picking up only one really is impossible for me.
I think the one I'm the most attached to is Naruto, what with all my ranting and screaming and whining about it ans still being addicted to that shit
The series I find most enjoyable to read... There's Bleach, because Kubo powns everyone and their mothers at narration. Then there's Kekkaishi, because it's a shounen that follows all the rules of the genre and stills does its ladies, antagonists, setting and plot justice. Of course there's Claymore, because it has warrior chicks everywhere and an awesome plot. Bloodsucker, because it's dark and creepy and I have a huge soft spot for real, scary and gore vampires. And Dorohedoro, because of its weirdness and originality, and of its awesome atmosphere of both horror and humor.

3) Name a story trope you love?

YOU ARE AN EVIL, EVIL PERSON. Having someone open the TV trope page is like sentencing their computer to support a good fifty pages in about half an hour XD
...Cain and Abel. (I tend to ground for Cain.)

4) What was the last book you read?

Apart from mangas, Magician by Raymond E. Feist, from the Riftwar Saga.
If mangas count as books, Mad Love Chase, volume 2 and 3.

5) Favorite part of you day?

Evening, when I'm home in front of my computer and my friends are online so I can chat and all.

Bleach can be pretty annoying too, because it follows the shonen guidelines to a fault, and there are some passages where Kubo did ludicrous stuff - but his characters are great, and his narration is very poetic and beautiful and GAH. Totally worth it.

Mad Love Chase is a shojo manga, about a demon prince who flees Hell with his cat because of an arranged marriage. His father sends three guys after him - a perverted vampire, a grumpy, antisocial werewolf and a tall, simple, nice-guy!zombie. Of course, they all take a human form AND GO TO A HIGH-SCHOOL. The prince must avoid to let his back and tatoo be seen at all costs, and the three guys try to see whether or not the tat is here. Then the vampire harass the cat, who turned into a hot chick, and the nice zombie becomes the prince's friend, and they have HUGE YAOI SUBTEXT. And then enters the prince's fiancée, and other guys trying to see the prince's back, blah blah blah. Basically, lots of stupid shenanigans and ship tease.
...and zombie guy and the prince are really cute. Which is totally my main reason for reading it. XD

I don't know, I suppose it depends on your country. I've been told French institutions only take people with a Master (5 years of uni) in French as Foreign Language, and then you might also need EXPERIENCE, of course.
But for now I'm trying to get a job giving private lessons in English, since I already have a licence (3 years of uni).

The main problems are my shyness and social awkwardness. I suppose when you're motivated and confident, you always find a way - I'm neither.

Itachi and Sasuke aren't your typical Cain and Abel characters. I mean, Itachi used to be the favorite, but then his family turned away from him as soon as he showed something else than perfection. And then Itachi decided to fully turn the tables by himself.
Anyway, their bond is all twisted and unhealthy and destructive, so of course I like it. XD
(I like Itachi and Kisame relationship better, though. Sasuke doesn't understand his brother at all, but Kisame and Itachi both understand and don't understand each other.)

Lol.

Though you are right. Kisame definitely seemed to be friends with Itachi, which was kinda nice to see for the Atasuki. AUS where the Uchiha clan is still alive always fascinate me because of how it would change the dynamic between the brothers. Plus, you know, I have fun seeing what the authors decide Shisui must be like.

I think it depends on where you want to work too. If I wanted to teach English to non-native speakers in the US (where I'm from. Um, probably similar guidelines for the UK and NZ and Australia too, now that I think of it...) it does take more education, usually because those jobs are in the public school system. What I'm certified for is more aimed at going to and living in countries where English is not the country's main language. Usually one would teach classes for a company, sometimes at a building they own or at the site of who ever is paying for the lessons. A lot of large businesses hire teachers to come and teach lessons at their offices....

I bet you are really good at giving lessons! Good luck in your job hunt! Everyone gets shy and awkward when job hunting (admittedly, some cover this up better than others. I've never learned their secrets to that though), but I'm sure you will do well anyway!

Well, I was speaking about working for the French associations abroad - such as l'Alliance Française and the likes (the French government uses them to actively promote the French language and culture abroad - I was taught that it's a bit different from English speaking countries?). They usually demand a master, or at the very least a licence. I don't know whether companies have their own lessons and teachers.

Ah, er, thank you? I hope you're right.
