Late as fuck, once again. Well, at least I'm consistent in my lateness?

Here be the song video )

Alasdair Mhic Cholla Ghasda
By Scottish band Capercaillie, album Sidewaulk.

In case you didn't know that yet, I was raised in folk music from Britany, Ireland and a few other places. Yes, what people call "celtic music" nowadays. Both of my parents are musicians, and my father plays these types of music (he currently plays the accordion, used to play the violin and is starting to play the guitar again).
This song is a fond memory, one of the songs I particularly liked among my father's CD collection.
(The strangest part is that most of my favorites come from two compilations he didn't like all that much himself, but I just ADORED some of the songs, and he put up with me when I pestered him to be allowed to play them on his CD player.)

I also have a strange pet-peeve on that topic: do not, i repeat, DO NOT call this music "Celtic" in front of me. Never. Especially NOT in French.
You see, I grew up hearing the musicians calling it a lot of names - traditional music, folk music, Irish/Breton music - but NEVER "Celtic music". In France, people started to talk about "Celtic music" once it became fashinable. And the fashion kinda annoys me. (Even though I love Manau to bits.) Besides, I hate-hate-hate the French word "celtique". We have another adjective to say "related to the Celts", and it's "celte" - it's shorter, and it doesn't have this ugly, strangely English-like, harsh "ique" sound at the end.

Please don't come and try to convince me of how wrong I am about this. I don't give a flying fuck. I just hate it. Any comment annoying me with this will be taken as trolling, and banned without another warning. Thanks.

Other folk songs I loved as a child and still love now, mind you:
Aaaand here be some folk music spamming, just because I can. )
