Disclaimer:
Hetalia and its characters belong to Himayura Hidekazu, not to me.
Rating: PG-13, for lots of swearwords.
Notes:
Written for my one-fic-a-day meme. The prompt was given by
chonaku55: "touching". My recent curiosity for Italian swearwords and insults hijacked it.
Since this has absolutely no context whatsoever, it may or may not be read as AU.
"Stop it!"
Antonio startles, blinks, then he smiles and tilts his head to the side, just like a fucking puppy.
Only it's not as cute as a real one.
"What do you want me to stop, Roma?"
His voice is relaxed and happy - not quite soft, because it's so warm, and it just doesn't hold any of it back. Just hearing makes Romano bristle.
"Your hand, coglione!"
Spain blinks once more before removing his damn hand from Romano's elbow. His eyebrows twitch a little, as if to show he can't decide whether to feel offended or not. Romano sends him a challenging glare, and Antonio sighs and roll his eyes. He doesn't get angry, though.
Well, he'd fucking better not. Romano's sick of his hands crawling all over him like that. He doesn't want people to get ideas. God knows he's in enough trouble as it is.
"Frocio," he grumbles, glaring daggers at his idiot brother and his fucking German.
Antonio jabs him with his elbow.
"What?" Romano barks. "I wasn't talking to you, mannaggia!"
Antonio stares, frowning, until Romano starts to fidget.
"Los cojones!" Antonio finally answers. "What did I tell you about homosexual slurs?"
Romano digs his hands in the pockets of his jeans and groans a little.
"Ci, ci. I'm sorry, okay? It's just- they're fucking disgusting."
Antonio sends him a (wounded) reproachful look. Romano glares back.
"You know it's different. It's my brother he's banging, porca puttana!"
Antonio sighs again, raises his hand to Romano's head and ruffles his hair.
"If you say so, Roma. Just stop using the slurs, please - just because you say them in Italian doesn't mean I won't understand."
Romano grinds his teeth but he doesn't complain about the hand lingering on his forehead, combing the bangs back into place.
He hates when Antonio touches him like that. And it's not because Antonio confessed to being homosexual one night when he was completely smashed. He just doesn't like to be touched by other men. It's a normal thing, at least for an Italian man.
And it has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with how Antonio explained to him the next morning that the touches don't mean anything special, it's just normal and okay for a Spanish man nowadays, and Romano's like a little brother to him so he would never ever touch him like that anyway.
Notes:
Everything comes from the internet. If you speak either Italian or Spanish and notice something off, tell me.
Italian
coglione = lit. testicle, where referred to a person, it usually means idiot, burk, twit, fool.
frocio = roughly equivalent to the English faggot, this term originated in Rome but is now widely used nationwide.
mannaggia = a generic expression of frustration, mostly used in Southern Italy; often translated as damn, but has no direct translation (it comes from the contraction of a former utterance, mal ne aggia, which means in ancient italian "may he/she get mischief out of it").
Ci= yes
porca puttana = Interjection roughly equivalent to "For fuck's sake" in English, used to express frustration
Spanish
Los cojones! = equivalent of "bullshit!" as in when someone gives you a crappy excuse.
